OUR NEW FACILITIES
Irukandji’s new improvements will take place over a number of phases, Phase one to be finished very soon. Whilst expanding into this state of the art aquarium Irukandji will maintain its personal touch and conservation/educational experiences with improved facilities and space. In the first stage, opening in April 2020, you can expect some awesome new experiences, including:
In this new experience, similar to our famous Shark Encounter, without the need to get changed. Wearing your own clothing and staying (mostly) dry, visitors wade in the sandy shallows of the new beach style lagoons, or sit on the rocks, feeding and petting the beautiful animals.
Swimwear and wetsuits are not required. We recommend wearing shorts or skirts for this activity so you can wander in and get your feet wet. Socks will be worn, you can borrow or buy some of our own Irukandji branded bamboo socks.
Suitable for all ages, and accessible to most abilities.

RATES & PRICES
As you can imagine, the cost of building a brand new, state of the art facility is very high! However, we are doing our very best to keep our rates similar to the affordable prices we’ve had for many years. For now, our general admission fee will remain the same for adults, children and concession pass holders.
We’ll be offering family passes to families with more than 2 children, and there’ll be more options for activities to suit all ages. Detailed prices will be found on our website shortly.

There will be shady areas for outdoor picnics with tables and seating provided, as well as in indoor cafe in the future. Our new souvenir shop will be focused on low-waste, eco-friendly products with a local touch.
