Tropical Lagoon

A Tropical Masterpiece: Our Coral Sea-Inspired Lagoon

Creating a slice of the Coral Sea was no small feat it took over 68 skilled professionals to bring this vision to life. The result? A stunning tropical lagoon designed to mimic the natural conditions of one of the most biodiverse marine environments on Earth.

Engineering Excellence

  • Unique Architecture: The centrepiece is a wood-beamed structure with an opening roof, allowing natural sunlight to flood the lagoon and support the health of its inhabitants.
  • Massive Scale: Over 60 tonnes of natural substrate were carefully placed to replicate authentic reef conditions.
  • Advanced Life Support System (LSS):
    • Plumbing: 12 km of pipes ensure seamless water circulation.
    • Flow Rate: 5 high-capacity pumps recirculate 940,000 liters per hour, achieving a water turnover rate of 18 times per day.
    • This guarantees pristine water quality and a stable environment for marine life.

Lagoon Conditions

These conditions were meticulously chosen to mirror the Coral Sea, ensuring the animals thrive in a habitat as close to nature as possible. Natural sunlight, authentic substrates, and precise water chemistry combine to create a sanctuary where marine species can flourish. This lagoon isn’t just an exhibit it’s a living ecosystem designed for education, conservation, and awe-inspiring encounters.
