Sadly, Golbat was one of the turtles extensively affected during the recent bay event, when harmful bacteria spread through the water. The infection damaged her beak, leaving her with severe facial injuries that make her recovery far more challenging than most.
Unlike her fellow patient Oddish, who is already making steady progress, Golbat faces a significantly longer rehabilitation journey. Her injuries mean she struggles with basic tasks like eating, and her care requires specialized veterinary support. Our team is working closely with experts to explore every option—including the possibility of prosthetics to give Golbat the best chance at a full and happy life.

She faces 4–5 months of intensive rehabilitation before she can safely return to her ocean home. During this time, she’ll need specialized care, nutritious feeding, pristine water conditions, and ongoing veterinary support to regain her strength.
