Irukandji Entry Pass - Perfect for first timers
This is your ticket into our aquarium which includes the feeding and patting of our animals from the shorelines of the lagoons. Take part in keeper supervised general feeding sessions all throughout the day and catch one of our educational shark and ray shows.

Do I need to book in advance?
While we do accept walk-in visitors, it is highly recommended to book in advance. Particularly during holiday periods and on weekends we can easily hit capacity and if you walk-in you may be disappointed.
As your visit is highly interactive it is important that we limit the number of people on site at one time. This ensures we keep the animals from being overwhelmed, and also results in a better experience overall for our customers.
Encounters and snorkels have limited spots, so it is always we strongly recommend booking those ahead to avoid missing out.
Is it worth doing an Experience? Or is the Entry Pass enough.
Our experiences allow you to enter parts of the lagoon that you can't get to with the entry pass alone. Putting on one of our wetsuits means you get to be closer to the areas where the larger and more shy animals like to hang out. In our opinion, this is the best way to experience our site.
The Discovery Encounter add on gets you in a wetsuit and beyond the shoreline so you can fully experience and immerse yourself in the company of the animals. This is truly the best way to experience our site and that is why this encounter is included with every other encoutner or snorkel on offer.
The Snorkels are the only way to witness the the deepest lagoon areas, seeing the full scope of animals that live in the nooks and crannys of the reefs and the secrets of the underwater caves.
While the Encounters enable intimate experiences with focussed attention from the keepers, with very small groups to ensure you get a meaningful and personal experience with the beautiful animals.
How is the Discovery Encounter different from the other Encounters?
The Discovery Encounter does not run at any specific time, your Discovery Encounter runs all day, upgrading your experience in the general feeding sessions that are constantly on rotation. You'll get to step beyond the shoreline and feed the animals from the deeper parts of the reef. The Discoervy Encounter is also not keeper guided, but it is still keeper supervised, meaning you interact with the animals at your own pace.
All other Encounters have a set session time that you must attend, but then before or after this session time you get to enjoy all the perks for the Discovery Encounter (which is included with any experience ticket found in Step 2 above). These other Encounter sessions are also limited to just 4 or 6 people per session making the experience super intimate and special. The other Encounters are also fully Keeper guided to maximise safety, learning, and connections with the animals.
Can children take part in encounters?
Age minimums vary by experience and are listed on each experience tile above. Little ones who are too young for an encounter can still purchase the discovery pass to spend the rest of the day with the rest of the family. Infants (under 3 yrs) can upgrade to the discovery encounter for free with any adult encounter ticket.
If an encounter is not your speed, your little ones can absolutely enjoy the perks of the entry pass including feeding and patting from in the water.
Do I need to know how to swim?
Encounters take place in shallow water and are fully guided by our aquarists, so swimming is not required.
Snorkels do require basic confidence in the water. If you are a beginner snorkeller, the Zebra Shark Snorkel is the perfect place to practice and learn!
What should I bring?
For Entry Pass Only tickets, wear short pants and bring a towel to dry your feet afterwards. Please note swimwear is not permitted in the lagoons without an irukandji wetsuit overtop. Please look at the Discovery Encounter add on if you want to get wet beyond your ankles.
For all other experiences bring swimwear for under the wetsuit or a spare pair of underwear. A towel is also a must. We have a limited number of loan towels available from the front desk.
