Before You Arrive
What to Bring for the Best Experience
To help you enjoy your day at Irukandji, we recommend packing a few essentials. Whether you’re feeding rays from the shoreline or stepping into a wetsuit for an in-water activity, these items will help keep you comfortable, safe, and ready for adventure.
Towel & Swimwear
Bring swimwear, a towel, and a dry change of clothes, perfect for wetsuit encounters or if you’re planning to get your feet wet in the lagoons.
Hat & Reef-Safe Sunscreen
Stay sun-smart all year round with a hat and reef-safe sunscreen. Forgotten yours? Both are available in our gift shop.
Camera
Capture your favourite moments with a phone, GoPro, or underwater camera. Just remember: no flash, as many of our animals are nocturnal.
Protecting Our Animals
What Not to Bring to Irukandji
To keep our animals healthy and ensure a safe environment for everyone, some items are not permitted on site. These guidelines protect sensitive species, prevent contamination in the water, and support our conservation values.
No Balloons or Plastic Confetti
These items pose serious choking hazards to our animals and contribute to dangerous ocean pollution.
No Outside Lotions or Repellents Before Entering the Water
Certain creams and repellents can harm marine life and disrupt water chemistry.
No Alcohol or Intoxicated Visitors
Stay sun-smart all year round with a hat and reef-safe sunscreen. Forgotten yours? Both are available in our gift shop.
No Disposable Plastic Party Décor
If visiting for a celebration, please avoid single-use plastics. Reusable and paper-based items are welcome.
No Wetsuits Brought From Home
Only Irukandji-issued wetsuits can be worn in the lagoons to protect the health of our fish and rays.
